Shows booked for 2016 Shelby County Fair

SIDNEY — Two acts have been booked for the 2016 Shelby County Fair, which will run from July 20-30, 2016.

Absolute Journey Tribute band will be performing Thursday, July 28, at 8 p.m. in the free entertainment tent. Ernie Haase & Signature Sound are slated to perform Friday, July 29, at 8 p.m.

Absolute Journey Tribute brings the greatest hits of Journey to stages across the United States. The lead vocal is Riccardo Curzi. He has been compared to Steve Perry, the lead singer of Journey.

The band brings a reproduction of the Journey live show and includes audience interactivity and true-to-the-original costume changes.

Curzi say he always felt the call to music as something essential in his life. He has been honing is skills since he was 18 to match those of the people he admires: Steve Perry, Freddie Mercury, Chris Cornell and Bruce Dickinson. In addition to being lead vocal for the band, he also plays the guitar and keyboards during the show.

The drummer for Absolute Journey Tribute is Jeff Salem, an internationally-recognized musician who is based in Toronto, Canada. He has performed in more than 70 countries and has recorded and performed with Fist, Sword, Saints and Sinners, Lee Aaron, Randy Bachman, Robben Ford and Kalan Porter.

Paul Ross is a bass player and provides background vocals for the band. He played bass in Faithdown and 21 Guns.

Jonathan Cain is the keyboard player in Absolute Journey. He also plays rhythm guitar and provides background harmonies and lead vocals.

Sean Spicer is the lead guitar player and background vocalist. He resides in Nashville, Tennessee, where he cultivates aspiring artists and does studio session work and live performances on a weekly basis. He has played rock, country, fusion jazz and many other types of music.

Erine Haase & Signature Sound was formed in 2003 and brings Southern gospel music to its audiences. The group has traveled all over the world, bringing energy and encouragement through its gospel music.

As group founder, Haase is a tenor with early roots with the unforgettable and legendary Southern gospel quartet, The Cathedrals. After the group retired Haase began a solo career. He then formed Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. The group is both a Grammy-nominated and GMA Dove Award-winning band.

He and his wife, Lisa, reside in Stow Ohio. He helped begin and build StowTown Records with co-founder Wayne Haun.

Dustin Doyle is the newest member of EHSS and is the baritone singer for the band. He had previously performed with Beyond the Ashes, a popular Southern gospel trio. He and his wife, Aubrey, reside in McKenzie, Tennessee, with their two children.

Devin McGlamery joined EHSS in 2009 after performing for nine years with other Southern gospel artists. He is the lead singer for EHSS. He and his wife, Karen, and their two children, reside in Nashville, Tennessee.

Bass singer Paul Harkey joined the group in 2012. He and his wife, Jennifer, reside near Nashville, Tennessee, with their three children.

Tyler Vestal plays the piano for the group. He learned to play the piano and sing harmony from his mother, who was a member of the female trio, Rejoice! When he was 17, he joined Rejoice! as a bass singer. He later traveled with the trio, Beyond the Ashes.

David Griffith has been with EHSS since it was formed in 2003. His roots in gospel music go back into the 1970s. He plays the bass guitar in the group. He is also the road manager and production manager. He was a member of the Miami Valley Boys and Lighthouse Quartet before joining Signature Sound.

He and his wife, Karen, reside outside Nashville, Tennessee. They have two grown sons.
