Agencies end management agreement

DAYTON — Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley (GESMV) and the Shelby County Counseling Center (SCCC) have mutually agreed to not continue its management agreement.

The SCCC, Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services and Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley will continue to work very closely together over the next few months to assist the center with this transition period, agency officials said. The SCCC board will be appointing an interim director to handle the day-to-day operations of the center. This person will be under the guidance of the Tri-County Board, and under the employment of SCCC.

The critical services that SCCC provides the community will continue without interruption.

“This has been a good partnership, but GESMV, SCCC and the Tri-County Board strongly believe this is the best path for improving operations and services at the center, and ultimately, for the clients who depend on the services,” GESMV President and CEO Lance Detrick said.

Questions regarding the transition may be directed to Lance Symonds, president of the board for SCCC, at 937-492-6970.
