MARIA STEIN — Chickasaw Community Mutual Fire Company and OUR Home, Inc. recently received grants from Westfield Insurance Foundations thanks to the help of Leugers Insurance Agency.

The grants were part of the new Westfield Legacy of Caring program in which Westfield Trilogy agencies across the country were invited to nominate local nonprofits in the area of disaster relief, insurance pathways, family stability or safety.

“Thanks to the generous donation from Westfield Insurance Foundation, we will be able to increase our efforts toward reducing the amount of property loss in large structure fires by purchasing the larger diameter hose to supply the higher flows of water to the scene of a fire,” said Mark Seitz, Chickasaw Community Fire Chief.

Kathy Mescher from OUR Home, Inc. said, “This donation will assist in providing first time expectant and new parents the resources and support they need to be prepared for the birth of their child and to maximize their child’s health and development to age 3.”

“We value our partnerships with out independent insurance agencies. Giving back to our agent’s communities in support of these keys areas is an extension of the fundamental role that insurance plays every day in stabilizing families, businesses and communities,” Ed Largent, Westfield President and CEO and Westfield Insurance Foundation Chairman.

“Leugers Insurance Agency and its employees are proud members of the Mercer and Auglaize County communities. Our collaboration with Westfield allows us to further our citizenship efforts and have impact in critically important initiatives,” said Ted Berke of Leugers Insurance Agency, Agency Principal.

Chickasaw Community Mutual Fire Company and Help Me Grow of Mercer County are just two of 31 nonprofit agencies nationwide to receive a total of $330,000 in donations from the Westfield Legacy of Caring program.
