Nude man found in county

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a nude man on a porch in the county.

“Our office received a call at 6:22 a.m. Tuesday of ‘a nude man on my front porch’,” said Chief Deputy Jim Frye.

The man, he said, took off running from the residence.

“Lt. “Tim” Bender and I got the guy as he came out of a cornfield,” said Frye. “He told us he had been beaten up and pistol whipped. His clothes were thrown out of a car.”

The man was taken to the hospital where detectives were interviewing him, said Frye.

Eight other deputies responded to the scene in Turtle Creek to look for the man. Fort Loramie Rescue was also dispatched.

The incident occurred in the area of state Routes 29 and 705.
