Trick-or-treating begins Thursday

SIDNEY — Walkers and joggers will have to watch out for princesses, super heroes and ghostly ghouls next week.

The Halloween tradition of Beggars’ Night will have children out and about in costume and mask to trick-or-treat throughout the area. Motorists, in particular, should be careful if they are driving during the following times, when little witches, skeletons, movie stars and more will be walking house to house for goodies.

Trick-or-treat times have been scheduled in towns and villages as follows:

Thursday, Oct. 25

• Anna, 6 to 7 p.m.

• DeGraff, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

• Fort Loramie, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

• Hardin, 6 to 8 p.m.

• Houston, 6 to 8 p.m.

• Kettlersville, 6 to 7 p.m.

• Lockington, 6 to 8 p.m.

• Minster, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

• New Knoxville, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

• Newport, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

• Quincy, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 28

• Botkins, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

• Jackson Center, 6 to 7 p.m.

• McCartyville, 1 to 3 p.m.

• New Bremen, 3 to 5 p.m.

• Russia, 2 to 3:30 p.m.

• Versailles, 2 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 31

• Port Jefferson, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

• Sidney, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
