Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — Sidney City Council will meet Monday, Jan. 4, at 6:30 p.m., for a workshop session in council chambers.

Council will witness the presentation of a proclamation to Bill Frey upon his retirement from the Department of Fire & Emergency Services. Council will review council rules and the city charter and discuss the 2016 curb and gutter program, a liquor permit requested by the Chipotle restaurant, transmission line fire hydrants, and committee assignments.

Council also will go into an executive session to discuss employment of a public official and preparing for negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees.

Cynthian Township trustees

NEWPORT — The Cynthian Township trustees will hold its annual reorganizational meeting Monday, Jan, 4, 2016, at 6:30 p.m., at the township building, 3494 Elm St., Newport.

Fairlawn Board of Education

SIDNEY — The Fairlawn Local School Board of Education will meet in special session Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at 6:30 p.m., in Room 122 at the school.

A presentation will be given by Heather O’Donnell, superintendent of the Midwest Region ESC, on the process of hiring a new superintendent for the district. The board is expected to accept the resignation of Superintendent Steven Mascho for the purpose of retirement, effective Feb. 29, 2016.

Fort Loramie Board of Education

FORT LORAMIE — The Fort Loramie Board of Education will meet on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at 7 p.m., in the media center.

This organizational meeting will include the nomination and election of officers for 2016, setting times, dates and locations for regular meetings and approving committees and members.

New Bremen Ag Boosters

NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen Ag Boosters will meet on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at 8 p.m., at the New Bremen High School in the Ag Room.

Guest speaker will be Allan Wolters, ag tax professional from Moorman Hartings Co. in Celina.
