Janessa was the first baby of the year born in Shelby County at 9:03 a.m. Jan, 1 2016 at the Copeland-Emerson Family Birth Center at Wilson Health. Janessa was born weighing 7 pounds 7 oz. To celebrate the birth of the first baby of 2016, the hospital presented the baby with numerous gifts including an afghan crocheted by one of Wilson’s volunteers, a baby bib, a hat made by Molly Watkins with “Off the Hook, Essential Camisole from the Wilson Health Sweet Beginnings Lactation Boutique and a free photo session with Picture Perfect Studios.
