3 new trustees elected to UW board

SIDNEY — Three people have been elected to the Shelby County United Way Board of Trustees.

Adam Koenig, controller, Koenig Equipment; Diane Magoteaux, branch manager, US Bank, Fort Loramie; and Tom Rossman, pavement management engineer, Ohio Department of Transportation, joined the board effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Koenig, a resident of Botkins, Ohio, joins the Community Initiatives Committee. He is a graduate of Botkins High School and Wright State University where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accountancy graduating magna cum laude. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Koenig is the third generation Koenig serving on the Shelby County United Way board following his Grandfather Emerson Koenig (1966-1974) and Uncle Raymond “Ray” Koenig (1979-1984). He is a Eucharistic minister at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Previously, he participated in the Alumni Student Mentor Program with Wright State University. He is married to his wife, Leah, and they have three children.

Magoteaux, a resident of Fort Loramie, Ohio, joins the Marketing Committee. She is a graduate of Versailles High School. She has served as a United Way Allocation Community Volunteer the past two years. Active in her community, she has served as a board of director for the Fort Loramie Education Foundation and was the president and vice president of the Fort Loramie Chamber of Commerce where she currently is a member of the Board. She also serves on the board of the German Heritage Days. She is married to her husband, Mike, and they have four children.

Rossman, a resident of Sidney joins the Special Projects Committee. He is a graduate of Union High School in New Castle, Pennsylvania, and earned his Bachelor’s of Engineering degree from Youngstown State University. Currently, Rossman is the treasurer for the Holy Angels Sports Committee, is a member and volunteer of Smiles of Hope, a nonprofit that provides aide to an orphanage in Tanzania, Africa, and volunteers as a youth coach for various sports. He has served on both Parish Council and the Holy Angels School Board, the Sidney –Shelby County YMCA Annual Campaign and at Samaritan Works. He is married to his wife, Dr. Lisa Alvetro-Rossman, and they have three children.

“These individuals bring to the United Way a strong commitment of community service with their unique and vast backgrounds and skill sets. Their professional and personal experiences will strengthen and diversify our Board. We are grateful they have agreed to serve our community,” said Scott Barr, executive director of the Shelby County United Way.
