SIDNEY — Alvetro Orthodontics of Sidney has orchestrated a contest between local dentist offices in the name of holiday cheer and generosity.
Staff of dental offices throughout the Shelby County area have come together within their respective businesses to create festive gingerbread houses. The houses are currently displayed in Alvetro Orthodontics’ Sidney office, located at 1102 Fairington Drive.
According to Alvetro employee Amy Clemons, the contest is a team building group event among Alvetro Orthodontics and its referring dental offices during the holiday season.
Offices including Coldwater Dental, Fort Loramie Dental, Auglaize Dental, MidWest Dental, Dr. Jill Miller, Botkins Family Dental, Covington Family Dental, Dr. Sommers, Lima Dental, Dr. Stocker, and Bur-Oak Dental, among others, have entered the contest.
The gingerbread houses, varying in size and style, are showcased together in the office on “snow”-covered shelves, creating an elaborate display of frosting-coated, gum drop-adorned, delectable dwellings.
Visitors to the office are encouraged to vote for which house they deem the best.
“Patients, and the general public, are invited to visit our office and vote for their favorite gingerbread house,” Clemons said. “For each vote, (Alvetro) will donate $1 to the Salvation Army.”
The office that wins will receive lunch or dinner of their choice.
Contest voting is open now through Dec. 20.
