HOUSTON — The Houston Community Association Annual Dinner meeting will be held Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend. Bring a covered dish and table service.

The association will provide sandwiches and coffee. Pop will be available also. A short meeting will be held and trustees will be elected.

New trustees are expected to serve a three year term and attend monthly meetings as well as other duties. If you are interested in becoming a trustee, please plan to attend the annual meeting or speak to one of the current trustees.

Yearly membership dues are due at this time. Family membership is $10, single memberships are $5, retired couple $4, retired person $2 and a disabled person is $2. Lifetime memberships can be purchased as well, just ask for more information. You can also pay your dues by mail and send them to HCA, PO Box 368, Houston, Ohio 45333.

Bid packets will be available at the annual dinner or from any trustee. Positions available for 2016 are janitor, rental agent, snow removal, and lawn maintenance.

The next fundraising dinner will be our annual Homemade Noodle dinner held Sunday, March 13. More information will follow.

The association will once again be asking Houston High School graduating seniors bound for college to complete their scholarship application for a chance to win a college scholarship this year. One of the requirements is to have completed a certain amount of volunteer hours for the association. These volunteer hours can be earned by helping at the fair, any or all of the Pizza Friday nights, or at the Annual Noodle dinner or Turkey/Ham dinner. The completed scholarships must be turned in by April 6 so trustees have time to choose the “Winner (s)”. If you are unable to download the application please contact a trustee.

The association will be purchasing lifetime tables and chairs very soon. This new addition should make the hall look very nice.
