SIDNEY — Fairlawn High School senior Ross Covault was honored with a plaque and a check for $100 during the Jan. 13 meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Sidney.

Covault was the Kiwanians’ Teen of the Month.

During the meeting, Phil Warnecke gave the invocation and the group was led in song by Ralph Bornhorst and accompanied by DiAnne Karas on the piano. John Coffield led the Fun & Games activities, which involved trying to decipher various Christmas song titles from clues given.

In other business, club members heard reports concerning:

• Volunteer service at the Free Food Bank in Cincinnati in December.

• A canned food drive by the Sidney Aktion Club.

• Results of a Salvation Army bell-ringing challenge between the club and the Sidney Rotary Club. The two groups collected $3,500. The Kiwanians won possession of a traveling trophy by collecting $104 more than did the Rotarians.
