Phlipot to lead Loramie trustees

RUSSIA —Scott Phlipot was elected chairman and Dale Goubeaux, vice chairman of Loramie Township at the township re-organizational meeting, Jan. 12.

Chester McKinney was named zoning officer of Loramie Township and Loramie Township representative to the Regional Planning Commission. For information about zoning issues, call him at 526-3168.

Richard Crump was appointed to the Zoning Board and Ron Deloye was re-appointed to the Zoning Appeals Board, each for a five-year term. Mark Shappie was appointed to the Zoning Appeals Board to finish a term for Ted Bruns.

Zoning board hearing fees were set at $350; permits, at $75 for the first 300 square feet and $10 per 100-square-feet for each 100 square feet over the $300 base amount. The raate applies to the living area of a home. The same rate also applies to accessory/storage buildings, garages, decks, porches and swimming pools. The pond fee was set at $100.

Bruce Walker will continue as Houston Cemetery sexton. The cemetery is open from dawn until dusk.

Trustee Chad Delaet will serve as township representative on the Houston Ambulance Board.

Township meetings will be at the Russia Fire House on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. All meetings are open to the public.
