Two search warrants net drugs, cash, arrest

SIDNEY — Two simultaneous narcotics search warrants, served by Sidney and Piqua Police Departments, led to the arrest of a Sidney man and the recovery of a significant amount of illegal narcotics and money.

According to Sidney Police Capt. Jerry A. Tangeman’s press release, on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, around 8:30 a.m., investigators and officers from the two departments executed two separate search warrants at two locations in Sidney. Investigators believe the two were linked together in distributing marijuana, marijuana edibles and marijuana vape pens in the community.

At the two locations, 711 Lynn St. and 709 ½ S. Main Ave., investigators recovered significant amounts of marijuana edibles, vape cartridges, marijuana and a combined cash recovery of approximately $15,000.

Ryan K. O’Leary, 32, 711 Lynn St., was arrested and charged with one count of drug trafficking, a third-degree felony.

Other charges on other individuals are likely to be filed at a later date as the case investigation is ongoing and being reviewed by the Shelby County Prosecutor.

The warrant execution is a continuing effort by the Sidney Police Department to combat drug abuse and drug trafficking in Sidney. Information resulting in this warrant was derived in part from concerned citizens.
