SIDNEY — On Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at approximately 6:23 a.m., the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Millcreek Road and Kuther Road on the report of a two-vehicle injury accident.

According to a press release, the preliminary investigation revealed Christopher L. Diaz, of Sidney, was traveling southbound on Kuther Road, in a 2009 Kia Spectra, when he had stopped at the stop sign on Kuther Road at the Millcreek Road intersection. Diaz then accelerated rapidly onto Millcreck Road, into the path of another vehicle, causing an accident.

The other vehicle was a 2003 Dodge Ram, driven by Randolph D. Presser, of Sidney. It was westbound on Millcreek Road, approaching the Kuther Road intersection when Diaz struck it.

Sidney Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, and transported Diaz to Wilson Health Hospital for treatment. Diaz is currently listed in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital.

The accident remains under investigation.
