New Knoxville house fire victim identified

NEW KNOXVILLE — A woman rescued from a house fire Wednesday afternoon, who later died, has been identified.

Amy Baker, 74, died at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Wednesday after she was pulled from her home at 306 Kuck St., New Knoxville, the Auglaize County Coroner’s Office confirmed Thursday afternoon.

When The New Knoxville Fire Department responded to the scene around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, the house was filled with smoke and flames could be seen coming out of the windows. First responders pulled Baker from the house and transported her to the hospital.

An autopsy has been ordered and the fire remains under investigation.
