Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education

PIQUA — Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet Monday, Feb. 22, at 6 p.m. in the Adams Board Room.

Items on the agenda include a report on new pilot programs, accepting donations, approving district learning experiences for students and staff for out of the state/country travel, employee contracts and the school calendar for the 2016-17 school year.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will meet Monday, Feb. 22, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers.

The council meeting will include the presentation of the promotion of Lt. Tony McLain within the fire department.

The council will also consider several ordinances, including an annexation and zoning of 25.249 acres of land from the county to the city. They will consider several supplemental appropriations of money, including one for the convention and visitors bureau fund.

They will consider a resolution appointing Ross Moore III to the tree board. They will also hold an executive session to prepare negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees, employment of a public official, to consider the purchase of property for public purposes, and pending or imminent court action.

Jackson Center Village Council

JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center Village Council will meet Monday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. in council chambers.

They will read for the third time and vote on four different ordinances. The first is an ordinance that will enhancement Main Street from the north to south corporation limits. It’s purpose is to create a safer environment for children by installing street lighting, eliminating obstructions and enhancing the view for drivers and pedestrians.

The council will also consider allowing the purchase of a used 2007 Elgin Pelican NP Street Sweeper. John Coffield, candidate for Shelby County Treasurer, will also be in attendance to introduce himself to council.

New Knoxville Board of Education

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Board of Education will meet Monday, Feb. 22, 7 p.m. in the media center.

They will review the financial reports for January and the minutes from the January meeting. The board will hear reports from officials and consider the employment of several staff members. The board will vote to approve field trips, the 2016-17 school calendar, and will accept a donation.

Anna Village Council

ANNA — The Anna Village Council will meet Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at 7 p.m. in council chambers.

They will hear from John Coffield, candidate for Shelby County Treasurer, will also be in attendance to introduce himself to council, and Andrew Coutts, a representative from Ohio Checkbook.

They will read several ordinances and resolutions for the first and second time, including a resolution to authorize the village administrator to enter into an agreement and accept funds from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Recreational Trails Program. Another resolution being considered will authorize the village administrator to enter into an agreement with the NatureWorks Grant Program and appropriate the necessary funds for the project.

The council will hear reports from officials and committees and discuss any other business that might come up, old and new.

Sidney-Shelby County Board of Health

SIDNEY — The Sidney-Shelby County Board of Health will meet Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the Health Department conference room at 7 p.m.

The board will consider a “Then and Now” certificate, private water system variance requests, the employment of a public health nurse and FYI materials.
