Jordan graduates from Army Ranger School

FORT BENNING, Ga. — Parker Jordan, a 2009 Sidney High School graduate and lifelong Shelby County resident, received a degree in engineering from Purdue University after being awarded a four-year Army ROTC scholarship at SHS.

Jordan was commissioned in 2013 as a U.S. Army 2nd lieutenant and is assigned overseas to the 173rd Airborne Brigade, 91st Calvary Regiment as a Cavalry Scout Officer. He has earned his Airborne Wings, Pathfinder Torch and Air Assault Wings and was promoted on Sept. 1, 2015, to the rank of 1st lieutenant.

On Jan. 22, 2016, Jordan earned his U.S. Army Ranger tab as a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Jordan is the son of Mark and Kim Jordan, of Sidney.
