Hopewell headliner changes due to medical issue

TROY — The Allman Betts Band will not be present at the 2019 Hopewell Music Festival on Aug. 17. The band has had to cancel 31 North American concerts in August and September due to sugery Devon Allman will be having. Allman is expected to make a complete recovery and will be back onstage in October.

The festival will still go on with a music line-up that includes RJ Howson & friends with special guest Michael Allman – featuring music from the Allman Brothers. RJ’s friends include Buddy Guy’s Marty Sammon, and Charlie Daniels’ Pat McDonald.

Other artists in attendance include local American Idol sensation Alexis Gomez, J Edwards, Jason ThunderBear Bonham, Donnie Reis and more.

The festival will offer beer and wine sponsored by Sweetwater Brewing Co., as well as an array of food options. Art vendors will also be present.

Located along the Great Miami River, nestled in the woods along Lost Creek, the Hopewell music venue is designed around the same natural land features the Hopewell Indians enjoyed over 1500 years ago. “It’s our vision to preserve what is left of “The Hopewell Tradition” and share it with the local community,” states founder, Joshua David Fulton.

Parking will be in the hay field just past the entrance by the Hopewell Music Festival Sign. Organizers ask that you leave all pets at home. Coolers will not be permitted in the venue. Consider bringing a blanket or outdoor chair for your comfort.

Due to the circumstances with The Allman Betts Band, The Hopewell team has adjusted ticket prices to serve the community. Tickets are available for purchase at $30 pre-sale and $35 at the gate. VIP tickets are $70 pre-sale and $80 at the gate. VIP ticket holders will be treated to a reserved area in front of the main stage with an elevated view, as well as access to the tent area with a private bar, snacks and facilities. VIPs can skip the lines for food and drinks by utilizing a private walking trail along scenic Lost Creek to the vending area.

Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. The concert will take place from noon to 11 p.m. on Aug. 17. For tickets and additional information, visit www.hopewellmusicfestival.com.
