Two Dems file petitions to run for 4th Congressional District seat

BELLEFONTAINE — Jeffrey A. Sites, a resident of the Lima area, and Shannon Freshour, of Marysville, have filed petitions to run as Democratic candidates for the 4th Congressional District to the House of Representatives in the March 2020 primary.

The seat is currently held by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Urbana.

Voters in the 4th Congressional District will have an opportunity to meet and hear from the two Democrat candidates at an open forum scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Ohio HI Point Career Center, 2280 state Route 540, Bellefontaine. This event free.

Sites graduated from Bath High School in 1985 and currently resides in Bath Township. He has a 16 year-old daughter who attends Bath High School.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Sites is employed as assistant manager for Logistics in Findlay, where he oversees 70 associates in receiving supplies components and shipping out finished goods to customers. This is his first time seeking public office and said he is looking forward to the challenge.

Freshour is a graduate of Trinity Washington University in Washington, D.C. and earned a masters degree from Johns Hopkins University in American government. She worked in the Washington, D.C. area for a number of years gaining access to federal government and its relationship to the states and local communities. She returned to Ohio for family reasons and currently works as a contractor doing federal archiving.
