SIDNEY — Gateway Arts Council is preparing for its first ever “Sports Page” exhibit.

The exhibit celebrates the art and the artists that capture the grace, emotion, and athleticism of a competitor or the momentary awkwardness that helps to make sports so great. It will also promote the importance of the connection that exists between athletic competition and artistic expression. The exhibit is composed of sports art across all media, including painting, sculptures, mixed media, prints, posters, and photography. Over 10 different artists will be represented.

The exhibit will run from Oct. 12, 2019, through Nov.8, 2019. There will be an opening reception on Oct. 12, 2019, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Gateway Gallery located in the Gateway Arts Council office at 216 N. Miami Ave. Sidney, Ohio.

During the opening reception visitors can browse through the exhibit, sample hors d’ oeuvres, all while enjoying the craft beer tasting, “Flight for the Arts.” Moeller Brew Barn will be providing a variety of craft beers. There will be a representative from Moeller Brew Barn present to explain the beers.

The art exhibit and opening reception are free. “Flight for the Arts”, craft beer tasting is $15 per person. Tickets for “Flight for the Arts” can be purchased by calling or stopping by Gateway Arts Council or online at www.gatewayartscouncil.org. Contact Gateway at 937-498-2787.
