Sidney Trick-or-Treat rescheduled for Nov. 2

SIDNEY—Trick-or-Treat in Sidney has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2.

The National Weather Service has issued high wind warnings with gusts up to 50 mph for this Halloween evening. Given the previous predictions of heavy rain and the potential for the first snow of the season and supported by the recommendations of the Sidney Police Department and the Sidney Fire Department, Trick-or-Treat is being moved to Saturday, Nov. 2 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

While this may be an inconvenience for some, said Mayor Mike Barhorst in an email sent Thursday morning, the safety of our little ghosts and goblins is our highest priority, thus necessitating the change.
