MCCARTYVILLE — The McCartyville St. Patrick’s Day celebration will be March 17, 18 and 19.

This year’s queen is Tori Bruns, daughter of Ron and Marjorie Bruns, of McCartyville. Tori is a graduate of Anna High School and a student at Ohio State University. Her mother was a previous queen of the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.

The grand marshals of the parade will be Marlene Huber and Helen Meyer. Their husband’s Don Huber and Lawrence Meyer are deceased, but will be remembered for all they did for the community. They are life-long residents of McCartyville. Organizers said it is through the Meyer’s and Huber’s inspiration and encouragement that the celebration has continued for 32 years. Helen and Marlene and their husbands have been supporters of the church, community, and Anna High School. They have attended many sports and educations programs a the school. The Meyer’s and Huber’s are a great example of the families that live in McCartyville, organizers said. It is through their example of living that many young families have chosen McCartyville to live.

The celebration begins with a singalong at Patrick’s Pub and Grill Thursday at 7 p.m. Friday kicks off with a fish fry at 5 p.m. in the McCartyville Sacred Heart Parish Activity Center. The toast to the queen will be at 7 p.m. at Patrick’s and her crowning will be at 7:30 in the Parish Activity Center.

On Saturday, the ride to the Irish Jog will depart the church parking lot at 10:30 a.m. The jog sets off to McCartyville at 11 a.m.

Back in McCartyville, the parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by music, drinks, friends and fun at the Parish Activity Center.
