Fitchpatrick named Sidney Holy Angels Spelling Bee Champion

SIDNEY — The annual Holy Angels Spelling Bee was held Wednesday, Jan. 8. Thirty students, grades 4 through 8, competed.

After 15 rounds, eighth-grade student Ryan Fitchpatrick was named champion. The winning word was spleen. Ryan is the daughter of Ronald and Robin Fitchpatrick, of Sidney.

Ryan will compete at The Lima News Regional Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 21.

Sixth-grade student Carter Rigel was named runner- up. Colin Potts, a seventh grade student, earned third place.
