Lehman Leadership Class plans double dash 5K

SIDNEY — The Lehman Catholic High School Teen Leadership Corps has been busy throughout the school year developing personal leadership skills and serving the community through fund-raising events and volunteerism. The class consists of ten junior and senior students who have a desire to inspire others by leading and serving their church, school and local communities. By discovering the general characteristics of a positive leader, each student has learned to develop and use their own personal skills and attributes. The goal for the course is for each student to gain personal confidence in leading as well as serving others.

This year, the TLC students chose to bring in a motivational speaker to address the student body, but due to costs, the project had to be postponed. The plan is to bring the speaker to the Lehman community next fall, using the profits from their upcoming Double Dash Color Fun Run and 5K to help defray the cost.

The double dash consists of two family-oriented events. The first is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, at Tawawa Park in Sidney and the second is Saturday, April 2, along the Miami River in Piqua, starting at Lock 9. Both fun events begin with registration at 9:00 a.m. A one-mile fun run is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. and a color 5K at 10 a.m.

Overall awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers, with trophies and certificates to recognize the top three finishers in each age group.

Pre-registration for the one-mile fun run is $10 per location or $15 for the dual event. Pre-registration for the Color 5K is $20 per location or $30 for the dual event. All pre-registration fees include a Double Dash T-shirt. The Registration fee increases $5 per event on the day of each race with limited shirt supply.

A PDF entry form can be found online at www.lehmancatholic.com. You can pre-register by Friday, March 11, by completing and returning the entry form to Lehman TLC, 2400 St. Marys Ave., Sidney, OH 45365. Checks may be made payable to Lehman TLC. To simplify the process, register online at www.AllianceRunning.com.
