Shelby County Libraries offer curbside service

SIDNEY — Shelby County Library patrons who have been stuck at home without books can get those now without coming into the library. The library has been closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and now is offering curbside service, which began Tuesday, May 12, at Amos Memorial Public Library in Sidney, and Wednesday, May 13 at Community locations in Anna, Botkins, Fort Loramie, Jackson Center and Russia.

The public is encouraged to use their Shelby County Library cards to access the online catalog on the library’s website at shelbyco.lib.oh.us or call the library at 937-492-8354 to request books, DVDs, CDs, video games or other library materials.

Once a request is sent online or by telephone, a staff member will gather the available items. Patrons can pick them up in the west parking lot of the library where there are designated parking spots. Upon arrival, call the number on the sign and a library staff member will bring your items to the trunk of your car.

Library staff is taking extra precautions with library materials by wearing masks and gloves and cleaning all items and heat sanitizing those.

“We are glad to be back to work and look forward to seeing our customers. We hope people will come get some new books and movies to enjoy until we can open up further.” Said Mark Kister, Adult Services director.
