Houston Community Association looking to fill paid positions

HOUSTON — Houston Community Association Trustees are still looking for someone to apply for rental agent and janitor. Bid packets are available and anyone with questions can call Phil Cozad at 937-658-2860. Anyone interested in these positions should plan to attend the June meeting, held June 3 at 7 p.m.

Houston High School seniors have until the June meeting to apply for a $500 scholarship from the Community Center. Anyone who volunteered some time working in the Shelby County Fair food booth, helped at the Pizza Friday Nights, at the Fort Loramie Fall Festival food booth, or at either of the dinners (turkey/ham dinner or Homemade Noodle dinner) and plans on going to college is eligible to apply for the scholarship. The application can be found online at www.houstonca.org.

Trustees discussed increasing the rental rates by $25. Deposits will remain the same. The effective date will be July 1. Anyone’s rental already in the books will be grandfathered in with no increase. This increase is for new rentals. For rentals call 937-419-4197.

Everyone is welcome to attend the June meeting, and the Association is still accepting membership dues. Anyone who received a letter about their past membership dues not being paid is asked to please pay them as soon as possible. Reduced rates on hall rentals are available to those up-to-date on their dues.

For more information, contact 937-418-0948.
