A man with a chest injury is taken to a waiting helicopter after he crashed his motorcycle at the intersection of state Route 65 and Maplewood Road around 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 24. According the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office which is handling the investigation the man failed to see the sharp turn made by state Route 65 at the intersection while traveling north and went airborne before crashing into a farm field. Perry Port Salem Rescue worked on the man while they waited for the helicopter to arrive and take him of a hospital. The Maplewood Fire Department also responded to the scene.
