SIDNEY — Charges are pending against a Sidney juvenile who allegedly stole a vehicle and led Sidney Police officers on a short pursuit.
According to a press release from the police department,
On Aug. 10, 2020, a Sidney Police Department officer observed a vehicle go the wrong way on a one-way street and also disregard a traffic control device. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle took off driving in a reckless manner.
The vehicle then struck two houses on Turner Drive causing significant damage to one of the structures. The vehicle then kept going and crashed into several other vehicles on Lynn Street before coming to a stop.
The juvenile driver of the vehicle was immediately taken into custody.
It appears the motor vehicle had been stolen from a residence in Sidney by the juvenile. There are charges pending from the pursuit. No one was injured and only property and vehicles were damaged.
