HOUSTON — The fundraising event to help David Stammen with his fight with stage four Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma was a success, said organizer Angie Rosenbeck.

There were 553 participants in the Walk With a Lymph 5K Run/Walk held Saturday, March 19, and since they started organizing the event in January, and holding multiple fundraisers along the way, they have raised $18,000, Rosenbeck said. She originally had a goal of getting 300 people signed-up, so she was amazed how the community came together.

The top male overall at the race was Jared Tangeman, 18, and the top female overall was Morgan Ely, 15, of Sidney. The rest of the race results can be found with this story on www.sidneydailynews.com.

All proceeds from the race will go to David’s cancer fund. David has requested that any amount of funds raised over the amount needed to pay his medical expenses be used to buy new gaming consoles and video games for Dayton Children’s Hospital.
