Indiana woman dies after crash

SIDNEY — An Indiana woman died from injuries sustained in a Sunday morning crash at the intersection of state Route 47 and Fourth Avenue.

Pamela S. Hite, 73, of Huntington, Indiana, is the name of the victim, Shelby County Coroner Dr. Andrew David McDonald confirmed.

Personnel from the Sidney Police Department and the Sidney Fire Department responded to state Route 47 and Fourth Avenue on a report of a serious injury crash at approximately 10:22 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, a press release from the Sidney Police Department said.

According to the crash report, the preliminary investigation revealed James L. Hite, 75, of Huntington, Indiana, was operating a silver 2019 GMC Terrain southbound on Fourth Avenue. He approached the intersection with state Route 47 on a red light and proceeded through the intersection and then was hit by a westbound, dark grey 2017 Chevrolet Silverado on state Route 47 that had a green light. The Silverado was driven by Randall J. Magoto, 50, of Fort Loramie.

James and Pamela Hite were transported by Sidney Fire to Wilson Health, where she passed away from injuries sustained from the crash.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
