HOUSTON — Trustees of the Houston Community Association have asked for help in manning their food booth during the Shelby County Fair, July 26-Aug. 1.

Volunteers can call 492-8769 to register to help.

The call for help came following a regular meeting of the trustees recently.

In other business, they:

• Noted during their recent meeting that attendance during the Houston Classic Festival was very low. The two-day event suffered from rainy, windy, chilly weather.

• Learned that one of Houston’s 4-H groups did some weeding, mulching and general clean up of the landscaping around the building.

• Noted that the fair booth also will be open on July 25 to serve lunch items to people moving their animals in, setting up booths or working around the grounds. There will be a general clean up of the booth and moving in items from the association building on July 18, beginning at 8 a.m.

• Noted that people who would like to rent the building should call 937-778-0427.

The next regular meeting will be Aug. 5 at 7 p.m.
