SIDNEY – Landings of Sidney has partnered with Walgreens to distribute and administer COVID-19 vaccines to its residents and employees. The vaccine clinic is scheduled to take place Wednesday.
As part of the U.S. government’s pharmacy partnership for long-term care program, residents and staff members at long-term care communities will have access to a vaccine over the upcoming weeks in the first phase of distribution.
Access to the COVID-19 vaccine will add one more preventative measure to Landings of Sidney’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its residents and employees. Managed by Meridian Senior Living, LLC, Landings of Sidney remains open and is safer than ever for seniors who need or want their services, company officials said.
“After this long journey of implementing extra infection control measures and above and beyond precautions during the pandemic, it is a relief that there is hope and a light at the end of the tunnel,” said Jane Taylor, executive director of Landings of Sidney.
“Our partnership with CVS, Walgreens and key pharmacies is a crucial preventative tool to include in our infection control protocols,” said Kacy Kang, president and chief operating officer of Meridian Senior Living. “This is an extension of our ongoing commitment to keep our communities as safe as possible while reducing the risk of concerns that arise from long intervals of isolation, both with our residents and seniors in the towns and cities in which we operate.”
“We are thrilled for our residents and employees to have access to the COVID-19 vaccine in the first-tier group,” said Kevin Carlin, principal and chief sales officer of Meridian Senior Living. “We look forward to seeing the expressions of relief on the faces of the residents and staff as the vaccinations are administered.”
