Sheriff’s log

WEDNESDAY

-10:47 a.m.: property damage crash. A crash with reported at mile marker 102 on Interstate 75.

TUESDAY

-10:20 p.m.: domestic trouble. A domestic incident was investigated.

-5:37 p.m.: assault. An alleged assault was investigated.

-5:17 p.m.: theft. A theft was reported in the 8500 block of Russell Road in Sidney.

-4:59 p.m.: assist other unit. Another unit was assisted at mile marker 103 on I-75.

Crashes

No one was cited after a single-vehicle crash on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 12:21 p.m.

Michael Allen Burch, 22, of Piqua, was traveling eastbound of Fair Road when he slid on a slick spot on the road, crossed the center line, then slid off the north side of Fair Road ans struck a curve ahead sign before coming to a stop in a snow bank.

• No one was cited after a single-vehicle crash on Feb. 11 at 10:07 a.m.

Jenna Nicole Bertke, 24, of New Bremen, was traveling eastbound on state Route 274 when she went to pass a slower vehicle, lost control on the snow-covered road, went off the right side of the road and hit a fence in the 9000 block of state Route 274.

• No one was cited after a two-vehicle crash on Feb. 11 at 8:56 a.m.

Carolyn Jean Shumate, 77, of Kettlersville, turned south onto Kettlersville Road from the Kettlersville Post Office lot and in front of the southbound vehicle of Kettlersville Road that was driven by Jozy L. Schwieterman, 35, of Botkins. Schwieterman swerved to the left to avoid a crash on the snow-covered road and then went off the left side of the roadway and into a utility pole.

Shumate said she did not see Schwieterman’s vehicle because of the post office’s sign by the road and because her vehicle was white and blended-in with the snow.
