SIDNEY – The Shelby County grand jury indicted a Sidney man who is charged with stabbing his cousin to death Thursday morning.

Riley D. Barger, 20, was indicted on a count of voluntary manslaughter, a first degree felony. If convicted, Barger could face three to 11 years in prison and a maximum of $20,000 in fines.

According to Sidney Police Capt. Jerry Tangeman, Brianna Wilson, 27, died Feb. 5 after being stabbed at her home at 630 E. 4th Ave., Sidney. Wilson and Barger were involved in a verbal argument over Wilson wanting Barger to move out of the residence, Tangeman said. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation in which Barger allegedly stabbed Wilson.

As of Thursday morning, Barger was in the Shelby County Jail.
