Blood drives to be held March 1 and 2

SIDNEY — Two blood drives will be held in the community the week of March 1.

Christian Academy Schools will host a community blood drive Monday, March 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. at 2151 W. Russell Road, Sidney. The blood drive is open to all eligible students, staff, parents and community members.

The McCartyville Knights of Columbus will sponsor a community blood drive Tuesday, March 2 from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Activity Center, 9333 State Route 119, McCartyville.

Everyone who registers to donate gets the new “Donor Shenanigans” t-shirt plus free COVID-19 antibody testing. Appointments must be made at www.DonorTime.com or by calling 937-461-3220.

Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors also are asked to bring their CBC donor ID card.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, or 16 years old with parental consent, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically.
