Sidney man sentenced to 11 months in prison

SIDNEY – A Sidney man was sentenced to 11 months in prison Feb. 17 in Shelby County Common Pleas court after he was found to have violated terms of his probation.

Ryan M. Leach, 40, of Sidney, was ordered to serve 11 months concurrently, meaning at the same time, with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. His probation stemmed from a conviction on two counts of trafficking in drugs, both fifth degree felonies.

Leach will serve his term after completing a sentence out of Miami County and was granted credit for 97 days served.

He also was ordered to serve up to three years of probation following his release and ordered to pay $630.31 in court costs.

In other news, a Sidney man was sentenced to probation Feb. 18 in the Shelby County Common Pleas court.

Zachary L. Kingery-Mash, 21, of Sidney, was placed on up to five years of community control and ordered to successfully complete mental health counseling, successfully complete drug and alcohol counseling, obtain and maintain employment and make regular payments on restitution and court costs. He pleaded guilty Jan. 8 to an amended charge of attempted breaking and entering and to contributing to the unruliness of a child, both of which are first degree misdemeanors.

Kingery-Mash was ordered to pay $1,195 in restitution to Epic Vapes, 1588 Michigan St., Sidney, and ordered to pay $430.70 in court costs.

If he violates terms of his probation, Kingery-Mash could face a sentence of 180 days in the Shelby County Jail on each count.
