Blood, plasma drives to be held week of March 15

HOUSTON — A blood drive and a plasma drive will be held in the community the week of March 15.

The American Legion Post 217 Auxiliary community blood drive will be held Tuesday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1265 N. Fourth St., Sidney.

The Sidney Apostolic Temple will host a COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma drive Thursday, March 18, from noon to 6 p.m. at 210 S. Pomeroy Ave., Sidney. The plasma drive is only open to qualified donors eligible to give COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma (CCP) for the treatment of seriously ill coronavirus patients. CCP donors who have received the COVID-19 vaccine may be eligible to continue donating CCP. To confirm eligibility, email [email protected] or call 937-461-3220.

Appointments for blood drives must be made at www.DonorTime.com or by calling 937-461-3220.

Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors also are asked to bring their CBC donor ID card.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, or 16 years old with parental consent, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically.
