‘Big’ to play at Troy-Hayner Cultural Center

TROY — The Troy Hayber Cultural Center will show the 1988 Oscar nominated film “Big” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 9.

Big is a rated PG Comedy, Drama, Fantasy film starring Tom Hanks and Elizabeth Perkins. Penny Marshall directed this film that was written by Gary Ross and Anne Spielberg. Thirteen-year-old Josh Baskin makes a wish to be “big” at a carnival. The next morning, Josh wakes up in the body of an adult (Tom Hanks). While Josh waits for the opportunity to return to his carefree youth, he must take on the adult responsibilities of a job and grown-up relationships.

The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is supported by the citizens of the Troy City School District through a local tax levy and generous gifts to the Friends of Hayner.

Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is located at 301 W. Main St., Troy. Hours of operation are Monday 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. The Hayner Center is closed on holidays.
