SIDNEY — Wilson Health Medical Group family physician Dr. Stephen Justice has donated his plasma to help patients battling the coronavirus. In fact, Justice donated 11 times which provided 33 convalescent plasma treatments for patients in the ICU with COVID-19.

Justice was diagnosed with COVID-19 in September 2020. After his recovery, his plasma, filled with antibodies, was used to fight off the infection. Justice traveled to Dayton to the Community Blood Center to donate his plasma.

“This is my way of helping and giving back,” he said. “I’ve been encouraging my patients who have recovered to donate also.”

Hospitals across the country are using convalescent plasma as a form of therapy to help patients battling the coronavirus. Justice says it’s simple and easy to donate plasma. He said it takes about 30-40 minutes. If you’ve recovered from the coronavirus and are interested in donating your plasma you can reach out to the Community Blood Center of Dayton by calling 937-461-3220.

Justice is a family medicine physician with Wilson Health and has a practice in Sidney. To contact his office, call 937-492-8431.
