SIDNEY — The city of Sidney’s Tree Board is giving away trees in a tree lottery that will replace the city tree planting program.
The city is giving away approximately 25 trees, said a city of Sidney press release. The lottery trees will be planted in public right-of-way areas located within the city of Sidney corporation limits. Tree lawns within the right-of-way must be 3-feet or larger.
To participate, go to the city’s website at www.sidneyoh.com/treelottery to enter or obtain a form at the city service center, 425 S. Vandemark Road. Entries are limited to one per property location. A site survey of selected winners will be completed by the city’s arborist to ensure eligibility requirements are met and to determine the type of tree to be planted by the city of Sidney.
The deadline to enter is June 30, 2021. Winners will be drawn Aug. 6, 2021.
Questions may be directed to the city arborist at 937-498-8159.
