SIDNEY — The Historic Sidney Theatre is holding open auditions for their 2021 fall season.
Auditions are open for “All Together Now”!,” “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “A Christmas Carol”.
“All Together Now”!” is a variety musical theatre revue; ages 10 and up can audition for this show. There are parts for everyone, including adults. Those auditioning must prepare a song of their own to sing at auditions. They may sing with an accompaniment track or acapella (an accompanist will not be available). Any song can be chosen, and only a short section will be performed. There will also be an optional dance portion of the audition for everyone to take part in. Show dates are Nov. 12 through 14 and rehearsals will be held from early September through the show weekend on a few weekday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Sunday evenings. Staff will work their best to build a rehearsal schedule that fits everyone’s schedule.
Auditions for “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” are for those that wish to be in the shadow cast. Everyone auditioning must be 18 years old or older. For the audition, prepare any act of choice (any lip sync act is best). The show date is Oct. 22 and one run-through rehearsal will be held prior to the show.
“A Christmas Carol” auditions are open to actors 14 years or older and actors are asked to prepare a short, 2-minute monologue of their choosing. Show dates are Dec. 17 through 19 and rehearsals will be held from mid-October through the show weekend on a few weekday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Sunday evenings. Staff will work their best to build a rehearsal schedule that fits everyone’s schedule.
Auditions will be held the following two days: Friday, Aug. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m. Plan to be present for the full audition time. Auditioning for multiple productions is allowed. Callbacks will be scheduled with actors after auditions as needed.
