SIDNEY — The Shelby County Animal Shelter will be hosting two special events during the month of December.

A special appearance by Santa Claus is planned for Dec. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. Visitors will be able to take a tour of the shelter, walk around and see the pets, meet Scarfie and learn more about the shelter.

A “Home for the Holidays” event is planned until Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. People adopting a pet will be able to pick an ornament off the Christmas tree for a discount off an adoption. Ornaments have either a $10, $20 or $30 off the adoption price discount.
