SIDNEY — There are currently 616 active COVID cases in the county — a small increase from the 614 cases from last week.

In total, Shelby County has reported 7,459 cases of COVID-19 with 272 hospitalizations and 133 deaths during the pandemic. There are 6,843 Shelby County residents total who are presumed to have recovered from COVID-19.

Throughout Ohio, there have been 1,708,292 total cases of COVID-19, with 87,244 hospitalizations, 10,848 intensive care admissions and 26,587 resident deaths.

In Shelby County, 17,317 people have started or completed COVID-19 vaccinations, which is 35.75% of the population and up 152 people since last week. Statewide, 6,782,133 people have been vaccinated, which is 58.02% of the population. All Ohioans 5 and older are eligible for vaccination.

In Auglaize County, a total of 114 new cases were reported from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Auglaize County has reported 7,798 total cases with 481 hospitalizations and 84 deaths.
