DAYTON — Winter is a great time to get out and go! The Great Miami Riverway has just the thing to inspire you to explore the region during the colder weather, have some fun, and win prizes along the way.
The Winter Challenge is the Riverway’s regional passport program, available only on the new Great Miami Riverway app. The Great Miami Riverway is more than just a river. This regional destination in southwest Ohio includes paved trails and connected communities where you can surf the river, cycle the bike trail, and find your way through historic downtowns.
Whether you love outdoor adventure, art, aviation, food, beer, or paddling, the challenge has something for you.
“In addition to the variety, we selected the challenge activities to allow for a range of personal contact, so you can ensure your own comfort and safety,” says Riverway Director, Dan Foley.
To play, download the Riverway app from the Apple App Store or Google Play and create an account. Complete an activity from the Riverway Winter Challenge and then check that item off your list on the app. For an extra chance to win, post a photo on social media with #riverwaychallenge.
The Great Miami Riverway app makes it easy to take the Winter Challenge and explore the region.
“The Great Miami Riverway features an interactive map that lists key attractions like parks, museums, river and trail access, and shops and restaurants. The app also features on-the-go information like trail closures and water advisories,” says Dan. “We added a Top Picks section where you’ll find the best of the best in each community whether that’s a restaurant, a cool museum or fun outdoor activity. Soon we’ll be adding a trip planner to the app.”
The more you explore, the more chances you have to win in the Winter Challenge.
A grand prize winner will be announced Feb. 3, To be eligible for the grand prizes, you must complete at least two activities in each category (eat and drink, shop local, be entertained, and explore) between Dec. 1 and Jan. 31. Winners will be notified by email.
