MARIA STEIN — The Maria Stein Legion Auxiliary Post 571 will be holding their annual Garage Sale March 23 through March 25.

The Auxiliary held their first garage sale approximately 35 years ago, and continues to try to help meet the needs of the community through the fundraiser. Funds raised from the garage sale help to support local veterans along with community programs such as the Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs, Apples for Education, Combined Charities, ASSURE community walk, Hospice, Rustic Hope, Mercer Council on Aging, Goodwill, Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics, a Baby Sitting Clinic, Socks for Veterans, local families in need and assisting in the planning and hosting of the Maria Stein CountryFest.

Donations for the garage sale will be accepted on Sunday, March 20, from noon to 6 p.m. and Monday, March 21, and Tuesday, March 22, from noon to 7 p.m. The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 23 and 24, and from 9 a.m. to noon on March 25. Friday, March 25, will also feature a buck-a-bag day and half price on large items.

In the past, any unsold items have been donated to the Salvation Army, Mercer County Council on Aging, Goodwill, Rustic Hope, Darke County Lending Hands, Maria Stein Shrine, Help in Haiti and Brother Jason Muhlenkamp’s aide programs for those in need.

All donations toward the garage sale aide the Auxiliary in helping those in the area that need assistance. Thank you to all our patrons, whether it is in giving themselves to help, donations to the sale itself, or supporting our work.
