Fundraisers benefit Houston Community Classic Festival

HOUSTON — The Houston Community Classic Festival will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022. The committee is holding two fundraisers in preparation for this year’s event.

The first is the HCC Chicken Dinner fundraiser. Paul’s BBQ will be cooking up their meals on Saturday March 26. Meal tickets must be purchased by Friday March 11. The cost is $8 per ticket, with checks payable to the Houston Classic Festival. Contact the Houston Festival Facebook page or one of the committee members to get tickets. Committee members are Gary and Charlotte Phipps, Brian and Chris Helman, and Stephanie Merickel. Meals will be available for drive-up pickup from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Houston Community Center’s rear doors.

The second fundraiser is the HCC Gun Raffle. It has been three years since the last raffle held by the festival committee, and we are glad to be working with Tactical Solutions to provide this opportunity. Up for raffle is a Ruger American Ranch Bolt 450 Bushmaster rifle. Tickets are $10 apiece and only 300 will be sold. Tickets may be purchased at Tactical Solutions, at the chicken dinner pick-up, by contacting a committee member, or by messaging the Facebook page. The winner will be drawn at the final attendance drawing of the Festival on June 11, but needs not be present to win.

Further details on everything happening at this year’s Festival are forthcoming, including the entertainment and activity schedule. Committee members hope to see the entire Houston community come out to support the Festival and the fundraising efforts; it really is a festival for the community, run by the community.
