SIDNEY — The Sidney High School Class of 1984 will honor one of its classmates on Saturday, April 2.

A tree dedication ceremony at the Webster Geib Pavilion in Tawawa Park at 2 p.m. will honor the memory of Master Sgt. Jeffrey Rieck who was killed in action in Afghanistan on April 4, 2012. He was 45 at the time of his death.

A member of the Ohio National Guard, Rieck was member of the 1st Battalion, 148th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

The class is inviting the public to attend the ceremony to honor their classmate who gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country.
