Grand Lake Area Literature Festival to be held April 9

CELINA — The Auglaize/Mercer Center will host the Grand Lake Area Literature Festival from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, at Tri Star Career Compact, 7655 State Route 703, Celina.

Thirteen children’s authors and six adult authors will present their work throughout the day. Free activities for children include a craft room, a scavenger hunt, and a contest kick-off. A panel discussion, led by Drs. Sally and Bill Angel, will offer valuable information for aspiring authors.

The Color, Cut, Create contest, the creation of a diorama, will be presented by author Merrill Rainey at 10 a.m. Two prizes will be awarded on May 15, a grand prize and a people’s choice award. The panel discussion will be at 11 a.m.

Anyone interested is encouraged to create an illustration of a newly written character sketch by participating authors. The illustrations will be displayed at the festival.
