SIDNEY — Members of the board of trustees of the Senior Center of Sidney and Shelby County met in regular session, April 8.

Executive Director Eileen Wiseman reported that volunteers gave 22 hours of service to the center in March. There were 804 paid members that month, including 17 new members; two deaths; 4,147 visits averaging 155 per day.

Sidney City Manager Mark Cundiff discussed progress on street paving and reported that water projects will begin soon. He said that tornado sirens are meant to be heard outside, not inside residences.

Members learned that ballots to be cast May 10 will be distributed in the organization’s newsletter, available after April 25.

They discussed objectionable materials that have been posted and left for distribution at the center. Signs will be posted to discourage that and unwanted materials will be discarded.
