NEW KNOXVILLE – “Christmas In The Village” again comes to downtown New Knoxville Dec. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with reappearances of the Grinch and Santa Claus and village organizations hosting special treats, said organizer Carolyn Bock.

“We have more merchants on hand to make the season memorable, with each stop marked by green and white striped flags to ensure it will be easy to find fun activities for the family,” she added.

Also, the Click A Pic photo contest will be held again, with opportunities for visitors to post their photos on the Christmas In the Village Facebook page and possibly win prizes. She added each participating organization offers a holiday-style backdrop for their pictures.

Bock said special thanks go to Allen Construction and Cy Schwieterman for providing the “Click A Pic” photo contest gift certificates from the Golden Triangle chamber. Amounts range from $10 to $25.

She added a 50-50 drawing will be held that day, with proceeds going to support future Christmas In The Village celebrations, said Bock. “The drawing will be held live on Facebook right after the event is over.”

Details about the Christmas in the Village event can be found at the village of New Knoxville Facebook page. Additionally, visitors can pick up a map at participating vendors.

Bock said the day starts at 10:30 a.m. with a parade down Main Street through the center of town, lead by by the jolly old elf himself, Santa Claus. He sets up shop to see children at the Fleet Safety Services.

“When you are walking down Main Street, be sure to listen to the New Knoxville high school choir, singing Christmas music, sponsored by German Farmers Mutual Insurance,” she said.
